Preparing for this whole, multistage adventure has required a bunch of getting our belongings where they belong. Travel clothes in backpacks, bicycles and camping gear in Boston, for May, most other things in family storage in PA, except work clothes for our last few weeks of work. Then at end of December, move rest of work clothes to CT, but leave behind a wedding outfit in Boston… So, lots of moving things we own here and there.
Jess and I have completed the final big move before our flight. We’ve been continuously downsizing for months now, and I’ve joked, that over and over we have to touch everything we own, but at least it takes less and less time. This time we packed up the last items from our tiny downtown Boston apt and, besides the two bicycles, it all fit in a Corolla. Here’s the before and after images from our final day of packing, leaving our adorable furnished temporary apartment behind.
Below is an image of everything for our trip after all our downsizing. Jess’s bag is already neatly packed, while I’m trying to figure out a system for getting it all to fit. Packing cubes are a huge win, but there’s still the question of what each cube is for! I’m thinking about recording an inventory of everything we packed at the beginning of the trip, and then making a similar list for comparison at the end.
